Whenever someone asks me about how much money it takes to start a business, I always say that you have to be willing to invest every single penny that you own. Hopefully you won't ever get to that point, but you have to be willing to do it or you will probably fail. If you don't believe 100% in your biz, how can you expect your customers to? Or other investors to? Every month there are countless stories in Entrepreneur/Inc/Fast Company of people who maxed our their credit cards to the point where they couldn't pay for groceries...and then five years later they have a 10 million dollar company. Obviously there's more to it than just this willingness, but without it I think you've pretty much made your own bed. Great post Adam.
